HealthAid Zinc Gluconate 70mg Tablets - 90 - Item Details

What are Zinc Gluconate Tablets? Zinc is an essential mineral that is found in almost every cell and is vital for numerous processes in the body. It stimulates the activity of several enzymes and is therefore involved in normal cell growth and sexual maturation, healthy immunity, digestion and the maintenance of supple joints. HealthAid provides a strong Zinc Gluconate supplement which can be easily absorbed and assimilated by the body for optimum effect. Who are Zinc Gluconate Tablets for? Zinc Gluconate Tablets may be of benefit to; - Men's health and well-being especially for the prostate gland - Men who suffer from impotence, infertility and reduced sperm count - Elderly people, concerned about senility and mental health - Women who have irregular menses or hormonal problems - Excessive alcoholic drinkers - People following fad diets or are limiting calorie intake - Those who have recently undergone surgery, suffered an injury or those with problem skin such as acne and eczema - Those with lowered immunity What are Zinc Gluconate Tablets for? Zinc is an essential mineral that is found in almost every cell. It acts as a traffic policeman, directing and overseeing the efficient flow of body processes and the maintenance of enzyme systems and cells. It stimulates the activity of approximately 100 enzymes, which are substances that promote biochemical reactions in your body. Zinc is present in a wide variety of foods. It is particularly associated with protein foods such as meat products, including lamb chops, steak and pork. A vegetarian diet often contains less Zinc than a meat based diet and so it is important for vegetarians to eat plenty of foods that are rich in this vital mineral. Good sources for vegetarians include dairy products, beans and lentils, yeast, nuts, seeds and wholegrain cereals. Pumpkin seeds provide one of the most concentrated vegetarian food sources of Zinc. Only 20% of the Zinc present in the diet is actually absorbed by the body. Dietary fibre and phytic acid, found in bran, wholegrain cereals, pulses and nuts, inhibit Zinc absorption. Phytic acid forms a highly insoluble complex with Zinc, which the body cannot absorb, therefore should not be consumed with Zinc containing products or supplements. Zinc has a range of functions. It plays a crucial role in growth and cell division where it is required for protein and DNA synthesis, in insulin activity, in the metabolism of the ovaries and testes, and in liver function. As a component of many enzymes, Zinc is involved in the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates, lipids and in energy production. There are particularly high concentrations in the prostate gland and semen. Men need more Zinc than women because male semen contains 100 times more Zinc than is found in the blood. The more sexually active a man the more Zinc he will require. Zinc helps to accelerate wound healing for internal and external injuries due to the process of cell synthesis The first signs of Zinc deficiency are impairment of taste, a poor immune response and skin problems. Other symptoms of Zinc deficiency can include hair loss, diarrhoea, fatigue, delayed wound healing, and decreased growth rate and mental development in infants. Adding Zinc to the diet, may increase the need for Vitamin A as they work synergistically with calcium and phosphorus. Higher intakes of Zinc may be needed if already taking Vitamin B6 as they compete. As Zinc may interfere with other minerals in the body, it is best to take it separately from any other supplementation or drug regime. When should I take Zinc Gluconate Tablets? Zinc Gluconate can be taken by men to improve male health and by everyone to help increase appetite, immunity and wellbeing.
